Gicle'e is French, literally meaning "to spray or squirt".
Unlike the lithograph process, requiring several photographic steps,
the Gicle'e process requires only that the original be scanned digitally
and thus creates a higher resolution. The dynamic color range is
greater than serigraphy. Through this process the reproduction will
actually look like the original because the inks are applied onto
watercolor paper. A Gicle'e is widely accepted in the world's finest
museums and galleries as a true art medium. Like any fine art, it
is advisable to frame with archival materials and to protect from
moisture and abrasion.
