China
paint may be applied to any glazed surface or porcelain bisque.
The colors give a soft antique effect, with a watercolor -like delicacy.
Special effects are possible by blending the colors and by using
specific brush strokes. A very desirable translucent effect can
be achieved by applying light colors, firing, then applying successively
darker colors between successive firings.
Some pieces take four or more firings. Each
firing takes three hours building up to the proper temperature,
then six to eight hours to cool before removable from the kiln.
Properly installed, the art work will last
indefinitely with minimal care. Each piece is individually created
for the homeowner. Works have been used as counter tops or backsplashes
in both kitchens and baths, as trivets, table tops, vases or wall
hangings.
